Roger A. Hooten, CPA
Chief Financial Officer
Roger has spent the last 20 years in the real estate and financial services industries. From 1984 to 1995, Roger was with the $10 billion Southmark Corporation (NYSE-SMK) based in Dallas, Texas. He served as the company's Chief Financial Officer from 1993 to 1995 as the company was winding down operations following a 1989 bankruptcy.
In 1996, Roger was responsible for SEC reporting for TIG Holdings, a $3.5 billion property-casualty insurance company in Dallas. From 1997 to 2003, Roger served as CFO for Harwood International, a Dallas-based developer, manager and syndicator of Class A office buildings. Immediately prior to joining Birkel Residential Group, Roger served as Chief Administrative Officer for the Jeffrey E. Smith Companies, a national developer of multi-family real estate properties and syndicator of federal and state tax credits, headquartered in Columbia, Missouri.
Roger graduated from Harding University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. He is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a current license to practice in Arkansas.
